10/02/20 Game 3- St. Louis Cardinals at San Diego Padres Preview

A thrilling opening playoff round comes to a conclusion at PETCO Park tonight, as the Cardinals and Padres face off for the right to get slaugherted by the Dodgers next week. San Diego has most of the momentum after yesterday’s comeback win. They have the better team, but the Cards are deeper and more experienced. The Cards throw Jack Flaherty today. He had mildly disappointing regular season, posting an ERA of 4.91, but at least he is a healthy, competent starter. The Fathers are not so lucky, having Craig Stammen on the hill for his first start in 10 years, due to injuries and the overuse of 5th starter Drew Pomeranz the last 2 days. We may see 10 pitchers on the Padres side alone. However, if Slam Diego heats up early enough, they can keep up with St. Louis. This matchup should favor the hitters. Buckle up, because I see a long see saw tilt that may not be decided until the bottom of the 9th.
The Pick: Over 9 (-105)
