A while back, a very amazing friend of mine who is a giant Disney fan realized her Disney plus subscription came with an ESPN plus account. Last week, I was stuck on a Google meet all week for work multiple hours with very little to accomplish, so I finally took her up on the offer. The fruits of my boredom pay off today as two Ohio Valley Conference teams I am now familiar with face off, as Eastern Kentucky invades Johnson Arena to take on Morehead St. The teams met 2 weeks ago in Richmond, where despite getting off to a horrible start, the Colonels dominated the second half to by 3 (but not cover). Interestingly enough, both teams are coming off over 20+ point home wins against the Division II Transylvania Pioneers. So all signs point to the home dog here, at least in theory. However, sometimes the numbers do lie. Eastern Kentucky gets stronger every week, running a full court press as a base defense. The Colonels nearly rode it to an upset at Xavier earlier this season. They are also good from downtown, particularly Michael Moreno. If he can avoid a cold start look for this one to maybe turn into a rout. Ohio Valley fans have been “social distancing” before it was cool, so the home court won’t matter much. Thank the public for moving the line a half point our way by holding one bad half against the Colonels. Just feel fortunate you have someone on your side that knows the OVC better than the oddsmakers, and ride it to the bank!
