9/4/21 NCAA Football- New Mexico State Aggies at San Diego State Aztecs Preview

One of the better betting matchups of the day takes place out west, as New Mexico State travels to the Dignity Health Sports Park to face San Diego State. New Mexico State is a perennial doormat who only played 2 games last season due to Covid. They did play last week, losing 30-3 at home to UTEP. It was so bad that their quarterbacks had a combined rating of 8.9. I don’t know which one will start, nor do I care. San Diego State coach Brady Hoke, who was the last Michigan coach to beat Ohio State, must be licking his chops. Although they have experienced some turnover, they should be pretty strong this year. Quarterback Jordan Brookshire inherits the offense. He didn’t make many appearances last year, and actually has fewer Twitter followers than my 15 year old son. However he did play well in relief against a stout BYU defense. SDSU’s defense, featuring linebacker Caden McDonald will look like men among boys. It is a large spread, but I expect the Aztecs to hit it easily. Let’s get paid!
The Pick: San Diego State -31 (-115)
