9/17/21 MLB- Colorado Rockies at Washington Nationals Preview

My regular readers know I like to keep things short and simple. So I will stick to tradition here. This matchup is all about getting German Marquez at a great price. As recently as 2 years ago, Marquez was a trendy Cy Young pick. The wins and ERA are not going to match up to the likes of de Grom and Scherzer due to playing on a bad team at Coors Field, the worst stadium for pitchers. But Marquez is definitely just below that level. He also gets bonus points in my book for winning the 2018 Silver Slugger, meaning he can also occasionally contribute with the lumber. Today’s game is at Nationals Park, which is a far cry from Coors. The Nationals’ lineup only has 2 power hitting threats, and one of them, Josh Bell, is 1-14 lifetime against German. Washington starter Josiah Gray has never won a game as a starter, either with the Nats or the Dodgers. Yet somehow this money line is only -115. Jump on this now before it moves.
The Pick: Rockies (-115)
