10/2/21 NCAA Football- Michigan Wolverines at Wisconsin Badgers Preview

To be the man, you’ve got to beat the man. Ric Flair said that. The same applies with sports betting. The oddsmakers are pretty good at what they do, that is why they have jobs. I am acquainted with a pretty high up oddsmaker for a major casino. I even knocked him out in the fantasy football league we did. But nonetheless, he is pretty good at what he does. The edge I have on him this game comes from being a square, a fan if you will. This line is the way it is for a handful of reasons. Wisconsin has the top rushing defense in the country, and the Wolverines success this season comes from a return to old school Big Ten ‘2 yards and a cloud of dust’ football. Michigan under Jim Harbaugh has only won one game as an underdog (2019 vs Notre Dame). Top Michigan receiver Ronnie Bell is out for the season. Michigan won just 2 games last year, and punter Brad Robbins was their best player. But none of that matters. Watching this team on a weekly basis is my edge. Quarterback Cade McNamara hasn’t had to throw much, but has looked good on the rare occasion that he has. Michigan also has not yet unleashed super sophomore A. J. Henning on anything but special teams. Look for him to make an impact on offense. Sconnie’s offense has turned the ball over often so far this season, and Michigan’s defense has been swarming and opportunistic. This Michigan team is different, and they are ready to prove it today. I plan to buy the half point for safety reasons, but Michigan will likely win this one outright. Go Blue!
The Pick: Michigan +3 (-115)
